With the inclusion of a Regional Championship series, extended National Championship series, International Team Championship, World Amateur Championship festival and inaugural Masters Pro-Am, APAT's Season Two schedule offers an incredibly mouth watering prospect for players of all abilities.
APAT Regional events will reward leading players with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, ranking points and seats at APAT National Championship events where APAT members will compete for 6 x GUKPT packages, 3 x GUKPT Grand Final packages and 3 x World Series of Poker main event packages in addition to championship cups and medals.
The highlight of the season will be the 2008 World Championship of Amateur Poker which will take place at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London and be extended across several days to include Omaha, Heads Up and Stud events, in addition to the World Amateur Poker Championship main event. The winner of the main event will receive an expenses paid entry to the $10,000 Championship event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Online satellites to each APAT National event will be held exclusively at Blue Square.
“Northern”, “Southern”, “Eastern” and “Western” Regional Championships will take place at casinos throughout the UK during Season Two. These events are a means of playing live, earning ranking points and qualifying for National Championship events in addition to prize-money. The regional events cost just £20 to enter, hold a maximum of 80 players and take place on scheduled Saturday afternoons. Click here to see the APAT Regional Championship Schedule.
There are 11 Championship events, the majority of which cater for a maximum of 200 players in a 2 day tournament held on scheduled weekends until November 2008. The top 10% of players at each APAT Regional Championship event and online satellite will be allocated a seat at a National event. The remaining seats will be allocated via direct buy-in via the APAT website. In addition to the prize-money, cups and Gold medals, winners of APAT National Championships will receive a great deal of media coverage and be provided with a seat at either a leg of the GUKPT, the GUKPT Grand Final or at the WSOP main event (all including expenses) by Blue Square Poker.
