Single Table Tournaments

To play in one of our single table tournaments, select the Single Table Tournament tab in the Tables view of the Lobby. Select an open table and take your seat. As soon as all players are seated, the tournament will begin. If you wish to leave prior to the start of the tournament, you may do so simply by leaving the table. If you do so, your tournament buy-in and fee will be returned to your account.

We have Single Table Tournaments for nine, six or two players. Two player tournaments are also known as Heads Up Tournaments. Single table tournaments can have turbo, speed or normal blind levels and can be limit, pot limit or no limit. They can also be satellite tournaments for which the prize is not cash, but a seat in a multi-table tournament. Details of these specifics are listed next to each tournament in the single table tournament lobby. For nine player tournaments prize money is paid to the top three finishers. For six player tournaments the winner and runner up are paid prize money and for Heads Up tournaments, only the winner.

Multi-Table Tournaments

Multi-table tournaments offer you the chance to play against larger numbers of opponents. The more people who participate, the higher the prize money will be. To play, you must register in advance. Click the Multi-Table Tournament tab in the Tables view of the Lobby. You may un-register any time prior to the start of the tournament when registration closes. If you do so, your tournament buy-in and fee will be returned to your account.

The payout structure for multi-table tournaments is determined by a number of factors: how many entrants there are, the stakes, the guaranteed payout pool (if any), and any funds added to the prize pool by the house. In rebuy/add-on tournaments, the prize pool may grow during the rebuy and add-on periods. In multi-table tournaments you play only against people seated at the same table as you. Seating is allocated randomly and as the tournament progresses and players are eliminated, tables are closed and players are consolidated onto the remaining tables. Eventually only enough players to fill one table will remain. This is known as the final table.

Multi-table tournaments take longer to play than single table ones, so every hour there is a five-minute break, where play is paused.

Freeroll Tournaments

These are multi-table tournaments which require no cash buy in but still have a real money pool to play for!

The majority of these freeroll events require KO Points to enter, which can be earned by playing any real money cash or tournament games on Blue Square Poker. However there are also some freerolls which are completely free to enter. See the Blue Square Tournament Schedule for full details.

Satellite Tournaments

We also have Single Table Tournaments that offer, as the prize, a seat in a Multi-Table Tournament Grand Final. The prize pool from the Satellite Tournament goes towards the cost of a seat in the more expensive Multi-Table Grand Final. Basically Satellites offer the opportunity to play in a multi-table tournament Grand Final for a much smaller cost than the usual cost of a seat.

In addition to STT satellite tournaments we also sometimes offer multi-table satellite tournaments, with seats at prestigious land based poker tournaments as the prizes. Please check the News section for the latest news on our satellite tournament events.

Rebuy & Add-on Tournaments

A rebuy is a purchase of additional chips that a player makes during a pre-defined period of a tournament if all previously purchased chips are lost. An add-on is an additional purchase of chips offered to all players at the end of the rebuy period, regardless of chip count.

Rebuys may only take place during a "rebuy round". Usually rebuys are available for first six blind levels in standard tournaments, but this can vary. Please check the “Details” tab in the tourno lobby if unsure.

Add-on option: Unless otherwise specified, our rebuy tournaments include an "add-on" option at the end of the last rebuy round (level). All players are offered an add-on purchase option at the end of the last rebuy round (level), regardless of the number of chips any player holds.

The fee for a rebuy/add-on is listed on the tournament page of the client. Unless otherwise specified, the fee and the number of chips will be the same as the initial chip purchase (at the start of the tournament).

When you are offered a rebuy/add-on, you only get a short period to decide, before we deal the next hand. Please give thought to your plan in advance. We take NO responsibility if you miss the rebuy/add-on "window". We recommend that you have sufficient funds or KO Points for rebuys/add-ons before the start of the tournament, It is unlikely there will be enough time for you to increase your account balance with a new purchase, and then return to your table for a rebuy/add-on.

Rebuy/add-on chips are delivered for the start of the next hand following the purchase.

We cannot take responsibility for cashier transaction requests for rebuys that fail due to connectivity problems with the site or general Internet propagation delays, regardless of the cause.
